what does my name mean?

Someone asked me what's the meaning of my name today and I did not know. So I thought I should do a search. Frantically did a search for the meaning of my name Jerlynn and apparently, I could not find anything from the various websites.

The nearest record was Jerilyn and Jerelyn, which is a modern combination of "Jeri" and "Lynn". And "Jeri" is short for "Jeraldine". And "Jeraldine" is a variant of "Geraldine"- which means Rules by the spear, ruling spear.

The other portion "Lynn" means a cascade in Anglo-Saxon and a waterfall in English. A cascade is anything that resembles a waterfall, especially in seeming to flow or fall in abundance: eg, a cascade of roses covering the wall. In French, it is a variant of "Lynette" and "Eluned": Idol. This form emerged in Tennyson's story of Sir Gareth and Lynette in one of his "Idylls for the King" (1859). In Spanish, it is a variant of "Linda" which means pretty. "Linda" in Latin also means beautiful.

Ladies' names in French often end with ette. eg. Charlotte, Lynette, Alouette. I named my dog, Kamlette.

Just as in Italian, men's names often end in "o" eg. Ricardo, Ronaldo, Pierro, Fernando.

Someone had told me in the past that Lynn implies peace and calm.
