french film festival

10 Oct 2006 marked our first movie date - Slushy and me. Though we've known each other for years, we've never gone to a movie together. That's probably because we never fancy going for movies. Yup, but when Slushy emailed me regarding going to watch a French movie during this time of the French Film Festival, I agreed without hesitation due to our common passion in the French language.

I don't watch movies normally because I find the plots overly commercialized. It's mostly a show-off of the latest movie technology effects. Movie makers often run out of ideas. It's evident from movies such as the remake of The Superman. Soon, it'll be the remake of The Spiderman, The Batman Returns Again and Again, etc. You get the picture. If not, it'll be Lord of the Rings Sequel 101. Sequels just aren't meant to stop at 3. *rolls eye balls*

Goodness, they should recruit bloggers to be their script writers. Sure to make the box office hits! lol.

These past recent weeks have been French immersion programme at home. Not only are we watching movies (watched 8 women again and maybe le papillon later), we also watch tv5monde every night (for hours), and then there is French music and podcasts (over and over again), not to mention the french books (grammar and whatever else) and and...the internet resources and online study guides. Going nuts....
